Marinating time: 4 hours to overnight

 

1 cup pineapple juice

2 tablespoons brown sugar

¼ cup teriyaki sauce

2 garlic cloves, minced

½ teaspoon fresh grated ginger

1 ½ pounds top loin steak, cut into two pieces

 

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together pineapple juice, sugar, teriyaki sauce, garlic, and ginger. Combine marinade with steaks in a large plastic resealable bag and marinate in the refrigerator 4 hours to overnight, turning at least once.
  2. Prepare grill. Remove steaks from marinade and grill 4-6 minutes on each side, depending on thickness of steaks, until they reach desired degree of doneness.

Side suggestions: Coconut rice. Add 1 ½ cups coconut milk and 1 ½ cups water to a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, add 1 ½ cups basmati rice, reduce heat to low, and cook according to package directions. Let stand for a few minutes before serving. For an even creamier taste, mix in some extra coconut milk to cooked rice. Steamed sugar snap peas.
